The Local List 2018
The newsletter is sent every Monday from roughly April to December and will include a brief update about the farm and a list of what produce we have available to purchase that week. Use the "Order Here" button for a link to the current order form. Each item is listed with the price per unit (pound, pint bunch etc.). Select a quantity from the drop down menu, complete the other questions and submit your order to us. You will immediately see an order confirmation and an order total will be emailed to you on Friday before pick-up begins.
The order deadline is Thursday at midnight of the same week. This deadline is firm so that harvesting and packing goes smoothly and efficiently. If you are not ordering that week you don't have to let us know. If we get an order we pack it; we try to make this easy for everyone. Orders are packed on a “first come, first served” basis and we will reply to let you know if anything you want is out of stock or for substitutions.
Items on the order form are pictured as a single unit of sale. Bunch size is a bit bigger than what you would get in a store. Items that are sold by weight are pictured as one pound for reference with the option to buy smaller quantities.
Orders can be picked up in the farm shop between 4 pm on Friday and 7 pm on Monday. We will turn off the walk-in cooler on Monday night because it is designated for on-farm pick-up only and we want to save resources. Please make sure your order is not still in it! If something comes up and you will not be able to come to the farm before Monday at 7 pm let us know. We can make a special allowance and hold your order in the main walk-in cooler until you can get here. A general reminder will be sent out on Sunday night for those who haven’t picked up yet.
Come in the front door of the shop and you will see the door to the walk-in cooler. Inside of the walk-in cooler you will find a blue bin with your name on it. Please bring the bin out of the cooler and use the table to unpack it on. Come prepared to repack the contents into bags or boxes that you bring so that we can keep the bins at the farm. Items that we don't store in the walk-in (tomatoes & winter squash) will be in the customer shop on a shelf with your name on it. If you would like to bring any clean pint containers back to us we can reuse them but we cannot reuse plastic bags or rubber bands.
We don't need to be here or know when you are coming. There are 3 friendly dogs who may greet you.
Our lane is diagonally across from mile marker 147 on the northbound side of the Blue Ridge Parkway. Our driveway is the first one on the left and the barn is the first building you come to. FYI- internet directions and maps will get you only to our mailbox on Conner Ln, one half mile from the farm. From the mailbox continue straight and you will merge onto the Parkway. Make a right and go approximately one half mile and follow the directions above from the mile marker. Contact us if you need more detailed directions.
Please park in the driveway to the right or on the grass along the driveway. Please do not park directly in front of the gate.
In the shop you will find an envelope with your name on it posted on the wall. It contains a receipt with the total due and space to add on additional items that are for sale in the shop. We take cash and checks written to Patchwork Farm. You may tear off the bottom portion of the receipt to take with you for your own records. Please leave the remainder of the receipt and your payment in the envelope. Use the slot in the wall to deposit your payment. We cannot make change but also don’t mind running a small balance or credit until your next order.
If you prepaid, we will keep a running balance in your envelope and update it after each order.
You can review these steps in the farm shop when you arrive to pick up. Being on the list has no ordering obligation and you may unsubscribe at any time.
Thank you so much for your support of our family farm, deepening your connection to where your food comes from and making healthy choices! We look forward to seeing everyone throughout the season.
